Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Neil Smiley is the founder and CEO of Loopback Analytics. Neil started Loopback Analytics after serving for 12 years as the founder and CEO of Phytel, a provider-led population health improvement company that grew to serve more than 30 million patients before it was acquired by IBM as part of the launch of Watson Health in 2015.
Neil started his professional career in management consulting with Accenture and later as a Partner with EY, working with Fortune 1000 clients across a variety of industries.
Neil is also President of the Charles H. Hood Foundation supporting child health research in partnership with leading institutions across New England and serves on the board of the Carson Leslie Foundation, which seeks to advance new cures for children with Medulloblastoma.
In 2013 Neil was one of four finalists nominated for the Tech Titans Award for Emerging Technology Innovation in Dallas and was selected as one of the top 25 most influential persons in healthcare by the Dallas Business Journal. He is an active investor and mentor with Health Wildcatters, a health technology accelerator based in Dallas, working with emerging healthcare startups.
Neil holds a bachelors degree in computer science from Dartmouth College.
He lives in Dallas with his wife, Judy and has three children, all of whom are married with kids of their own.
Chief Financial Officer
Shari is the Chief Financial Officer of Loopback Analytics. She has positioned the company for growth since its inception and leads the day-to-day financial oversight and management.
Before joining Loopback Analytics, Shari owned and operated a public accounting firm specializing in high net-worth individuals and small businesses.
Prior to founding her firm, Shari was the Chief Financial Officer for a private, family-owned business enterprise in the Dallas area with interests in oil and gas, ranching and real estate throughout the world.
She began her career in the Dallas office of KPMG, specializing in tax and mergers and acquisitions.
Shari is a Certified Public Accountant and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Baylor University. She is a very active volunteer in her church and in other civic and community organizations.
Vice President of Platform Services
Eric Lakey is Loopback’s Vice President of Platform Services where he manages the teams responsible for the construction and operations of Loopback’s application and data platform.
Prior to joining Loopback in 2014, Eric spent 18 years in management and IT consulting with a specialization in strategic advisory services and business intelligence. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management science engineering from Southern Methodist University.
Outside of Loopback, Eric, his wife and four kids reside in Dallas. He is the chairman of the board of a non-profit ministry that serves the materially poor in his community.
r. RIPley MARTIN
Senior Vice President, Life Sciences & Real World Data
Ripley is responsible for Loopback’s relationships with clients and partners across the Life Sciences industry and shared opportunity areas with Loopback’s Health System clients.
Rip joins Loopback from Philips Healthcare, where he spent ten years in executive roles across innovation, strategy and business leadership. Most recently, he lead Philips Ventures, the company’s global corporate venture capital and accelerator program which actively invests across the healthcare delivery continuum.
Prior to Philips, Rip spent six years with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) where he was a Principal in the firm’s Healthcare, Industrial Goods and Strategy practices. He earned his MBA with high distinction from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan, and his BA in Economics from Colby College. Rip lives in the greater Boston area with his wife, two kids… and two dogs.
Vice President of Customer Success
Dusty Lewis, PharmD, MBA is the Vice President of Customer Success for Loopback Analytics. In this role he manages the Client Services and Program Management Teams. A key focus of these teams’ work is driving both financial and clinical return on investment for Loopback’s Health System clients.
Prior to joining Loopback, Dusty spent 10 years managing health system-based Specialty Pharmacy, Home Infusion, and Home Medical Equipment businesses. Most recently, Dusty managed the Specialty Pharmacy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, he helped to start and foster the growth of one of the nation’s largest and leading pediatric focused specialty pharmacies. He oversaw the rollout of the pharmacy’s clinic embedded pharmacist model, the integration of the Epic Specialty Pharmacy solution, dual accreditation with URAC and ACHC, year-over-year double digit growth, and a shift to a staff work from home model during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dusty has his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Ohio Northern University, and an MBA from Ashford University. He is an active member of ASHP and the Ohio Pharmacist’s Association.
Dusty lives in Ohio near family and friends. In his spare time, he volunteers for a local non-profit organization focused on drug use prevention in local high schools. He also enjoys golfing, cycling, Jeep rides, and watching football and hockey.
Director of Program Management
Alvin serves as the Director of Program Management at Loopback Analytics, and functions as the lead for client and product requirements.
Alvin has over has over 18 years of experience in the technology and healthcare industry. During his tenure he’s successfully managed extensive institutional and healthcare project portfolios, as well as large, complex development projects. His range of expertise covers managing, leading, and coordinating resources across both technical and non-technical groups for project initiatives. He has guided organizations to meet major milestones on critical projects that satisfy both customer requirements and expectations.
Alvin holds an MBA from Webster University, St. Louis and a B.A. from the University of Memphis. Professionally, he is also a member of the Dallas chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMI).
He lives in Grapevine with his wife, Kristee and their 3 sons. They actively serve in several ministries at their church.
Director of Information Security and Technical Operations
John is the Director of Information Security and Technical Operations at Loopback Analytics. He is responsible for managing and monitoring the compliance risks related to information security and data privacy. John is also responsible for overseeing the systems that provide operational support or security for Loopback’s application and data platform.
John has over 15 years of experience in IT compliance and risk advisory engagements where he assisted organizations with their risk management programs, information security strategies, control methodologies, information security frameworks, and provided companies with creative solutions that met their technology requirements or service obligations. John is a Certified Information System Auditor (CISA) and Certified Common Security Framework Practitioner (CCSFP) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Texas Tech University.
John lives in the North Dallas area with his lovely wife Nora. They have been married for over 10 years and they have 2 sons and 1 daughter.
Director of Data Integration
Quan is the Director of Integration for Loopback Analytics where he manages the data pipeline for new and existing clients. He has been a key part of the growth of Loopback serving as the Director of DevOps and TechOps prior to leading the data integration team.
Prior to Loopback, Quan spent more than 10 years at Phytel working in the data integration department.
Quan, his wife and son are involved in short-term missions and lead the sports ministry at their church.
Director of Engineering
Jim Martin is the Director of Engineering for Loopback Analytics, where he is responsible for the company’s infrastructure platform and analytics engine.
Jim is naturally drawn to and focused on accuracy, precision and safety measures for the data records that Loopback processes. With more than 20 years of hands-on software engineering experience, Jim provides leadership for our engineering team that allows for client and partner success.
Aside from his duties with the company, Jim is a contributing author in publications relating to social media software and is the co-founder of the North Dallas .Net Users Group.
Director of Strategic Initiatives
Travis serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives where he is responsible for completing priority items for the CEO. His areas of focus have included the teams responsible for client onboarding, customer success, and product development.
Before joining Loopback, Travis served in a variety of investment roles in the finance and consulting industries. He served on the investment team for a hedge fund on real assets, helped build and manage a multi-billion-dollar quantitative investment platform, and consulted a 130,000 acre cattle ranch on integrated portfolio management. Most recently, Travis was a consultant for the Boston Consulting Group.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the honors program at Texas A&M University. He attended graduate school at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth where he graduated as a Tuck Scholar with High Distinction (top 3%). He is also a CFA® charterholder.
He prefers his hometown of Houston, but he lives happily with his wife and three small children in Dallas. While he’s adopted most of the Dallas sports teams as his own, he still cheers for the Astros (and yes, he’s aware of the 2017 season).
Director of Health System Sales
JD Smiley is the Director of Health System Sales for Loopback Analytics. Joining Loopback in 2016, JD launched Loopback’s sales efforts with the Rx Platform which has grown to over 25 health systems. JD works closely with existing clients and industry partners to innovate new solutions and drive value while continuing to grow Loopback’s client base.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Outside of Loopback, JD, his wife and their 2 sons live in Dallas and are active in their church and community.
Director of Product Management
Mike Gannon is the Director of Product Management for Loopback Analytics. Mike is responsible for implementing enhancements to existing products as well as assessing health system specialty pharmacy needs to implement new product solutions on the Loopback platform.
Mike previously worked for the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) where he served as the Assistant Director for Specialty Pharmacy Services. Mike was responsible for fulfillment operations and was involved in the strategic planning and execution of initiatives for the specialty pharmacy. He also served as an Interim Assistant Director of Finance and the Business Coordinator for Specialty Pharmacy Services while at UIC. As Business Coordinator, Mike aimed to secure access to limited distribution products and payer networks, and supported reporting for accreditation. Prior to joining UIC, Mike worked at CVS Health in a product management role that focused on specialty pharmacy solutions.
Mike earned his PharmD and MBA from the University of Illinois Chicago. He completed a managed care residency concentrated in specialty pharmacy at CVS Health. He lives in the Chicago suburbs with his wife and two daughters. In his spare time Mike enjoys golfing and reading.
Director of Analytics / Principal Data Scientist
Jeff Pattillo is both the Principal Data Scientist and Director of Analytics at Loopback Analytics. After graduating with a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Texas A&M, Jeff joined Loopback in 2013 as a Data Scientist, a relatively new position at the time. Jeff’s first big task was to build Loopback’s Master Person Index (MPI), which stitches together the same person across the various healthcare data sources integrated with Loopback. Since that project, Jeff has pioneered numerous analytics systems to build relationships across disparate data sources, to support healthcare population analysis, and to augment client data with machine learning predictions, while also guiding others as they code various systems to enhance Loopback’s data.
Outside of Loopback, Jeff enjoys basketball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, card games, and two-stepping with his wife. He is a die-hard Texas A&M fan, loves March Madness, and loves spending time with his Red Golden Retriever named Jones. Jeff and his wife Liz actively serve at their church and are expecting their first child in July 2022.
